Kylo Ren's not a bad guy. He's just misunderstood.
He's not out to destroy the galaxy. He just wants to make his mother proud, and he thinks Darth Vader is the best way to do that. Kylo Ren is a little awkward, but that doesn't mean he's wrong.
Kylo Ren is a bad character.
But what if he wasn't?
What if, instead of being the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, he were their nephew? What if instead of a Sith Lord, he was a Jedi Master?
What if Kylo Ren was a young man in his twenties—the same age as Rey—who had been trained by Luke Skywalker himself? What if Kylo Ren was a young man that Rey could relate to on an emotional level? What if the two of them could have a real relationship and not just a series of mind games that only served to make Kylo Ren look like an idiot?
Rey and Kylo Ren would be able to bond over their similar upbringings and their shared connection to the Force. They could be friends, or even more than friends. They could fall in love! And then they could fight against Snoke together! It would be so much better than this nonsense we've been given so far!
